Over the past three years, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly asserted that Israel is reshaping the region into a new Middle East. Today, after the official conclusion of the US-Israeli war on Iran through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Switzerland - despite Trump's continued insistence that a return to military action is possible should negotiations between the two sides fail (a threat I consider worthless) - a new Middle East is indeed taking shape. However, based on the outcomes of this war and the terms of both the announced and unannounced understandings, this new Middle East bears little resemblance to Netanyahu's vision. This is an analysis of the future of the Middle East in the aftermath of the war and the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran.![]()
